VERNELL  JOHNSON TYLER

Ocala, Fl – Ms. Vernell Johnson Tyler, 78, transition to with her heavenly father on January 03, 2021 at West Marion Community Hospital. Vernell was a graduate of Howard High School(Class of 1958), Hampton Junior College(1960) and FAMU, receiving both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Political Science. Vernell was employed by the Marion County Public School System for more than 25 years and Central Florida Community College for 2 years. She served in the United States Peace Corps. Vernell was a former member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, NAACP, and the Marion Education Association. 

Vernell was a trailblazer during her time here on earth. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: (Daughters) Oni Z. Tyler, Joi D. Tyler(Donnie), (Sons) Henry Tyler III(Amanda) Edward Robinson(Dawn), (sisters) Evone Johnson, Elvira Surmons, Norma Anderson(Donna Davis), (8) grandchildren, a host of relatives and friends. 

Memorial service for Ms. Vernell Johnson Tyler will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Immerse Church, Apostle Lillie Tuggerson, Pastor, 5105 N. US Hwy 441, Ocala, Florida 34475.
