Samuel “S.T.” Taylor Sims Sr., 88, of Ocala, Florida, transitioned this life to be with the heavenly father on September 8, 2017. He was born to James Sims and Maude Winfry on July22, 1929 in Washington, GA.

He is survived by his devoted wife Gwendolyn Sims of Ocala, Florida, and (Daughters) Barbara Golden, Linda (James) Davis, (Sons): Samuel (Betty) Sims, Jr., and Gregory (Judith) Sims (all of New Jersey) along with 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He served honorably in the United States Navy for 20 years and retired as a Lieutenant from the Marion Correctional Institution.

He enjoyed serving the community, and was very proud of his church family at Zion United Methodist. Samuel touched the lives of many people with his charming personality.   Many of his family friends and associates can attest to his remarkable proclivity at story telling.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 2:00pm unitl 6:00pm at Hadley-Brown Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Samuel will be held at Zion United Methodist Church in Ocala, Florida on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 3:30pm. Samuel will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
