Jacksonville, FL – Mr. Rowland L. Thagard, Sr., 58 transitioned on September 27, 2021, at Mannheim University Hospital in Mannheim, Germany. After graduating from North Marion High School in 1981, he answered the illustrious call to join the United States Army. Rowland Sr. proudly retired from the Army after completing 20 years and 29 days of Active-Duty military service as a Sergeant First Class (E-7). While serving his country, he dedicated time to earn and obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. While he mastered many talents, Rowland’s greatest hobby was working on Automobiles and doing anything that stimulated his mechanical intellect.
Rowland Sr. leaves a lifetime of love and memories that will be cherished by his wife, Stacy Thagard; children, Rowland “RJ” Thagard Jr. (Kendra), Alisha Thagard; stepchildren, Ashley Witt & Tyler Bolton; Seven grandchildren; twin, Robert Thagard Jr. (Sharon); sister, Barbara Shuman; brothers, Willie “Leon” Blount, James “Donnie” Thagard, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 3:00PM-7:00PM at Hadley-Brown Funeral Home. (Walk through only). Covid-19 restrictions will be enforced
A Graveside Life Celebration will be held at 9:00am on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Memorial Gardens in Anthony, FL. Covid-19 restrictions will be enforced, and wearing a mask is mandatory.
