Rickie Hawkins Sr. Obituary

On Dec 1st, 2023 Rickie Eugene Hawkins Sr. answered the Master call. God called him from his earthly home to his heavenly home. 
   Rickie Eugene Hawkins Sr. was born on July 25, 1960 to devoted parents who preceded him in death, Elder Willie James Hawkins, Jr., and Barbara Ann Akins. Rickie accepted the Lord as his Savior at an early age with the New Shady Grove Missionary Baptist, where he served as a member of the O. M. Hawkins Gospel Choir in his youth years. Rickie loved to sing in his baritone voice, and he loved listening and singing to praise & worship gospel music.
   Rickie accepted life, always looking on the brighter side. He loved the Lord and always knew where his help came from. He was a joker, a tutor for many of his Lockheed Martin coworkers, as well as his military peers.
   Rickie was unselfish and generous to his community and other farmers always leaning a helping hand.
   Rickie was a graduate of Vanguard High School Class of 1978, and he was a retired veteran of the United States Army.
   After faithfully serving his country, he retired and then began his career at Lockheed Martin as a dedicated employee where he took pride in his job, serving for 40 years. He retired on August 31, 2022.
   Rickie was a man who loved his family, and he was a great provider. 
   Rickie was a member of the Black Farmer Agricultural Association. He loved people, plants, and animals. His favorite hobby was fishing. 
   He Leaves to cherish his precious moments: wife and companion for 26 years, Jo Ann Harkins of Ocklawaha, Fl.
Children: Barbara Ann Hawkins, Shaquanna Hawkins-Smiley of Tampa, FL, Marquita Hawkins Belleview, FL, Rickisha Hawkins Ocala, FL, Rickie Hawkins, Jr. Belleview, Fl, Travis Weller (Lindsey) of Summerfield, FL, Trina Mosley (Thomas), of Ocala, Fl, Shaquita Johnson (Curtis) of Cookeville, TN, Shamekia Mills  Belleview, Fl, Danielle Kendrick Ocala, Fl. Fifteen grandchildren.
Siblings: Brenda Bell (Curtis Bell), Bernard Bostick Fort Myers, Fla, Willie Mae Hawkins, Ocala, Fl, Chaplain Leaneze Hawkins- Dozier (Alvin) Ocala, Fl, Command Sergeant Major Virgil Robinson (Angela) Ocala, Fl, Darrell Robinson Ames Iowa, Annie Lee Brooks Pine Hills, Fl, Emma Jean Hawkins Ocala, Fl, Mary Ann Kilpatrick Riveria Beach, FL, Cheryl Hawkins Ocala, Fl, and Curtis Hawkins Orlando, Fl., one aunt Rosa Oliver of Immokalee, Fl, two uncles Westly Akins (Mertha) of Ocoee, Fl, Lewis Gibson Crescent City, Fl, God Mother Brenda Gillum. His pets; Rottweiler, Lady, and Chihuahua, Toco.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
