Kathy Brown James was born to the late Ida and Willie Brown Jr. in Ocala, FL.
She was educated in the Marion County Public School System graduating from North Marion High School in 1976. She furthered her education at Central Florida Community College and Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, FL. She was employed by the Marion County Public School System.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was a faithful member of the Mt Tabor AME Church of Ocala, FL. Rev. James was an Itinerate Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, serving on the Ministerial Staff at Mt Tabor for more than 20 years. Additionally, she assisted faithfully as an Associate Minister at the St. Luke AME Church of Alachua, Florida.
Reverend Kathy James, was preceded in death by her parents, Ida & Willie Brown Jr., son, Reginal Sherod James, Sr., brothers Bobby O. Brown and Wayne B. Brown, Sr.
A few days following her passing her brother Earl Joe Brown Sr, joined her in the great cloud of witness.
Reverend James leaves to cherish her precious memories:
Daughters: Katrina Waters (David), Erin James, Michele James; Sons: Daren James, Sr., Rev. Mikel James; Six Grandchildren, Devyn Waters, Remari James, Jaelynn Mann, Reginal James, Jr., Daren James, Jr., and Remarion James. Sisters: Gloria Butler, Billie Hudson, Annie Barbour, and Cheryl Baker (Jimmie); a Daughter in Law, Sabelitha Mitchell- Moore; A sister in law Vivian Brown, God-Children, Khrystian Berry and Elisha Parker. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and sorrowing friends.
