LAMAR PALMER
Lamar “Snake” Palmer was born on April 11, 1943, in Donaldsonville, Georgia, to the late George Fudge and Annie Lee Holmes. He received his formal education in Homestead, Florida. Lamar relocated to Ocala, Florida after High Schoolwith his family.
Lamar was a former employee of Morrison Cafeteria and Swift meat packing house. He retired from the State of FloridaDepartment of Transportation with a (45) year tenure. In his leisure time, Lamar enjoyed playing pool. He was an avid pool player. Lamar had a passion for cooking, listening to Blues and maintaining a beautiful lawn for his customers.
Lamar was united in holy matrimony to Murtis Palmer in (1987).
Lamar leaves to cherish his precious memories (children), Dorissa Ivey, Victor Palmer, Tonya Palmer- Gadson (Carey), (bonus children) Ted Epps, Leroy Epps, Jerrold Epps, Gregory Epps and Daphne Epps. A special grandson, Donald Ray Gadson, Jr, (Kimberly), (bonus grandson), Aaron Epps(Temekia)), a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, (sister) Anna Doris Fudge-Hopkins, Betty Ann Fudge, Donna Fudge, (brothers) Jackie T. Porter, Nabe C. Palmer, Jimmy Jones, Rahn Fudge, (daughter-in-law) Yvonne Palmer,(god son) Deon Richardson, (special cousins) Edith Adams, the Hunt family, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
He was preceded in death by his children, Cheryl Ann Palmer, Sabrena Palmer, Lamar Valentenio Palmer, Terry Palmer, Gregory Palmer, (mother) Annie Lee Mathis, (father) George Fudge, (grandmother) Virginia Upshaw, (grandfather) Ed Fudge,(sister) Virginia Ferguson, (brother) Elder Earl Porter, (aunt) Vera Hunt.
On March 25, 2026, Lamar “Snake” Palmer peacefully departed this life at Grace Hall Davis, Hospice of Marion County. His legacy of hard work, family love, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
