Ms. Irongila (Rongi) Bethea, 42, transitioned on December 16, 2021 at E.W. & Lucille Cates House.
She was a graduate of Forest High School, Class of 1998. Upon graduation, Rongi attended Florida Southern College; she transferred to Central Florida Communtiy College where she received an AS Degree. She continued her education and received a BA degree from the University of West Georgia.
Irongila was formerly employed by the Ocala Police Department as a Victim Advocate and Kimberly Center as a Forensic Interviewer. Irongila was employed by Episcopal Children’s Service as a Community Outreach Coordnator.
She was the Assistant Women’s Basketball coach at University West Georgia, Girls Junior Varsity head basketball coach at Forest High School, and the 10th Girls Head Basketball Coach at Vanguard High School.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Parents, Ire & Gloria Bethea; siblings: Ire Jr., Irvin, Sharongila, Destiny & Jazzmin; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and caring friends.
A life celebration for Rongi Bethea will be held 1:30 pm on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Greater Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 4:00pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Hadley-Brown Funeral Home.
