Henry Sylvester Jones

Henry Sylvester Jones was born in Ocala, FL on December 16, 1938 and passed away into
eternal life on Friday, January 13, 2023.
Educated in Marion County Schools he is a member of Howard High Class of 1957.
In his youth Henry worked at Paradise Park where he was a lifeguard and drove the famous
glass bottom boats.
A proud veteran of the US Army; 101st Airborne.
Mr. Jones retired from Sears after 25 years of dedicated service and was the owner of Galleria
of Caskets and was the first African American salesman at  Ford of Ocala.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Leartha ‘Phyllis’ Jones, and daughters Charlotte (Earl),
Sylvia ‘Kita’ (Shan), Maya ‘Angie’ (Jeff), and Trellis ‘Shea’ and bonus daughter Trellis Nichole.
1 Sister Felice Sylvia Jones. 10 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren and a host of In-Laws,
Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Family and Friends.
Celebration of life service wil be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Maricamp
Road Church of Christ 2750 SE Maricamp Rd; Ocala, FL
