Elder Cleophus Grimes was born October 13, 1941, to the late Lewatha Grimes and Juanita Smith Grimes in Ocala, Fl. He joined Ebenezer AME Church, now Ebenezer IFM Church at an early age. He received his education at Marion County Public School. Moved to St. Louis Missouri was married to the late Ethel Strong. He worked as a nurse assistant at Rehab Center. His siblings Leroland, Reginald and Marilyn proceeded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Sutton (Deone) of Jackson, MS, along with his granddaughter, Matasha Stinson of Phoenix, AZ, and grandsons Neal (Laquenda) Stinson, Jr. and Emmanuel (Lakeia) Stinson of Greenville, SC. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Jayla Joyner of Phoenix, AZ, Amazay Robinson, Chayce Toborn, and Collin Stinson of Greenville, SC. Additionally, he leaves behind his brothers Johnny and Joseph, Sr. of Ocala, FL, and sisters Lenita of Miami, FL, and Lauretha of Ocala, FL. He is also survived by his aunt Annie B. Thomas and uncle Elder Isiah Autry, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
