Mr. Clarence Walker Sr. peacefully departed this earthly life on August 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of his children. His 96 years were a testament to faith, hard work, innovation, and an unwavering devotion to his family. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come. Clarence was born in Palatka, Florida, to the late Mr. Paul Walker Sr. and Mrs. Mary J. Coppock. He was the youngest of eleven children and was raised with the values of perseverance, integrity, and service that would guide him throughout his life.
As a proud Air Force World War II Veteran, Clarence answered the call to serve his country with honor and distinction. Following his military service, he built an exceptional career as a Master Electrician with Raytheon in Bedford, Massachusetts before retiring. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish C. Walker Electrical Services in Boston, Mass., a successful business he owned and operated for over 40 years.
On May 9, 1953, Clarence married the love of his life, Lorene “Butter” Smith. Their marriage flourished for 70 beautiful years until her passing in 2023. Together they built a home rooted in faith, love, and commitment, and were blessed with eight children.
Clarence was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorene Smith Walker; his parents, his ten siblings, his children:Emerson G. Walker, Lorena K. Walker, and Clarence Walker Jr.; and his beloved grandson, Marino Mercer Jr. He leaves to cherish his precious memory to his loving children, Cedric E. Milton (Ruth), Clarise L. Walker, Vincent Walker Sr., (Yvonne), Zetta Marie Walker, and Phyllis W. Webster (Nolan Jr); 22 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives that willforever be touched by his kindness, wisdom, and love. While our hearts mourn his absence, we find comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with the love of his life and those who have gone before him. His legacy is not measured only by the buildings he wired or the structures he built, but by the lives he shaped, the family he loved, and the values he instilled. His memory will remain in our hearts indefinitely, and his life will continue to be celebrated through the generations that follow. “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
