Ocala- Elder Earl Porter ('EP'), age 82, transition this life to be with his heavenly father peacefully on January 7, 2018 at Oak Hurst Center. He was educated in Dade County. Mr. Porter was a former Police Officer with the Ocala Police Department and a Supervisor at the Ed Croskey Recreational Center. Elder Porter had a special connection to the youth in the city of Ocala. Mr. Porter was self employed as a tire technician. He was known for his evangelism throughout the district (Evangelist Porter) a Community leader, Church Leader and Friend to many. He Loved his church families and serving in many capacities in the church.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories children, Rev. Arnold Porter, Adrian Porter, Rev. Terry Porter, Ricky Porter, Maurice Porter, Robert Earl Porter, Earl Porter, Malcom Earl Porter, Wayne Porter Nelson, Valerie Porter-Best, Joy Porter-Salters, Bonnie Porter, Shavonne Porter; 22 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; devoted sister, Virginia Ferguson; brothers, Jackie T. Porter, Nabe C. Porter, Lamar Palmer; (caregivers) nieces, Jessica Hadley-Brown and Youlanda Green Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends and Church families.
Life celebration will be held 2:00PM on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at St. Paul AME Church, 718 N.W. 7th Street, Ocala, Florida 34475. Wake service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 6:00PM until 7:30PM at Shiloh Seven Adventist Church. Mr. Porter will lie in repose 12:00 Noon until 6:00PM on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Hadley-Brown Funeral Home, 127 NW 20th Street, Ocala, Florida 34475. (352) 620-0573.
